Position: Senior Environmental Consultant
Location: Gauteng; Centurion
Driver’s License: A must
Professional Registration:
Registered EAP with EAPASA – A must/ Non-negotiable
SACNASP Pr. Sci. Nat– A must/ Non-negotiable
Medicals Fit: Compulsory

Introduction

development in South Africa. As a growing environmental consulting firm, we work on impactful
projects across infrastructure, energy, mining, water, waste and sustainable development
sectors. We are expanding and seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant who thrives in a fast-
paced, entrepreneurial environment and is ready to take ownership of projects, clients, and
technical excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Basic
Assessments (BAs), and related environmental authorisation processes. - Act as the EAPASA-registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) on
assigned projects. - Oversee public participation processes and stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare, review, and sign off on high-quality technical reports in line with NEMA
and applicable environmental legislation. - Provide strategic environmental advisory services to clients across various
sectors (mining, infrastructure, energy, waste, etc.). - Ensure regulatory compliance with national and provincial environmental
legislation. - Mentor junior consultants and provide technical oversight.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and client relationships.
- Liaise with competent authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Water Use License Applications
- Field Work – sampling, supervision, monitoring
- Conduct field analytical and observational studies
- Environmental Compliance Audit, Safety Audit and third-party audit
- Support the tendering team in preparing proposals
- Implementation of projects tendered within the company or subcontracted
- Compile analytical data
- Write and file reports
- Report findings to superiors
- Safety awareness is a must

Minimum requirements and qualifications
- Honours degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or
related field. - Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in environmental consulting.
- Proven experience managing full EIA and BA processes independently.
- Strong knowledge of NEMA, EIA Regulations, Waste Act, Water Act, and related
legislation. - Ability to write proposals for tenders
- Experience in any of the following will be an added advantage – Water Use License
Application, Air Quality Management, Wetland Studies, Biodiversity and Aquatic
Studies - Knowledge and understanding of the government tender system and requirements
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
- Proficient in a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
